Girl/Model: Erika Byrd (one of my most highly recommended models). Thanks to Bond (Steven Whitfield), Erika can continue to model..

Of course we had fun! I try to make every one of my photoshoots fun.. even when the look we are going for is serious.

I loved this outfit I found for Erika at Revolve Clothing Exchange (St. Pete – 4th St.) and had to get some solo images..

Steven is a local model with a good attitude and a great passion for what he does.

Steven wanted some new photographs to add to his portfolio and I came up with this idea. We didn’t have all of the pieces to the outfit I wanted for this look, so, on the day of our shoot we hit up the thrift stores and put this look together for about $30! Shoes, pants, shirt, bow-tie, belt, briefcase.. everything except for his socks, jacket and my umbrella! Though the sleeves and pants may be a tad bit short.. I think we came up with a very nice look.. What do you think?..

I had the pleasure of meeting Kimberly a few months ago (when her hair was dark) at her home as I photographed her for a fabulous feature she had in the fall issue of Vertical Tampa Bay magazine (below).

So, when Kimberly asked me to be at this event, I couldn’t say no.

It was a cold Saturday evening and I found Kimberly and her great models huddling inside. What was really cool to me was that these were the same models sporting Kimberly’s designs at Fashion Week Tampa Bay, an event I also covered (LINK to those photos here). We found a nice spot in the corner, got the girls together and rocked out some great photographs.. here they are.. ENJOY!

We definitely packed the house. Filling the stadium with almost 37,000 people! Though the Rays did not win, falling 2-0 to the Orioles, it was a great time.

Luckily for me, Geekfest 2010 was held one block from my studio here in St. Petersburg, FL. Most of the people in attendance were from all over the United States (and from as far as Washington State), with only a handful of us locals. I would like to thank all of the speakers, the St. Pete Times and Melissa Lyttle for putting together such a great event. I came out informed and inspired.

Leica was there…

I have to thank Leica for letting us play with their cameras. The Leica M9 is definitely a different animal than I am used to, but, I quickly got the hang of it and ended up with some clean, sharp images..

I really enjoyed meeting and chatting with Zack Arias, a kick-ass photographer based out of Atlanta who I very much respect and admire. Zack is amazing at what he does and is kindly sharing his knowledge with those who want to learn. He has put together a KILLER photography class, the One Light Workshop and you’ll love his teaching style.. Zack is one of the coolest, most down to earth photographers I’ve met and he has such a great sense of humor that you just want to hang out with him! He was even cool enough to let me make a photograph of him..

Geekfest got me inspired and instilled some confidence I needed. I met many great people from the industry and I look forward to what the future holds for us..
